How can small Philippine resorts win Christmas and New Year bookings earlier?

The short answer

Publish your Christmas 2026 and New Year 2027 family packages while guests are still comparing trips. Show the exact stay dates, number and ages of guests covered, total payable price, inclusions and booking conditions. Give families one clear enquiry route, reply with a complete quote, and follow up at an agreed time. A Tapyo page can bring the offer, photos, directions and contact options together.

For small resorts, inns, homestays and independent hosts, the opportunity is to make a local stay easy to understand before the family commits elsewhere. A cheaper headline rate alone may leave too many unanswered questions.

What does the Undas booking news tell resort owners?

An October 29, 2026 OneNews report of AirAsia MOVE data says international hotels accounted for 38% of the platform’s Undas hotel bookings, compared with 18% in 2025. It also reports that 72% of 2026 flight bookings were made at least 15 days ahead; in 2025, 51% were made within two weeks of departure. Domestic travel still held the majority share.

These are booking shares on one platform for Undas, not the whole Philippine market or Christmas demand. A lower domestic share does not establish that the number of domestic bookings fell. Flight lead times are not hotel lead times. The useful planning lesson is to make your holiday offer available early, then use your own enquiries and reservations to judge demand.

1. Build separate Christmas and New Year offers

Start with the rooms and services you can actually deliver. Define a Christmas stay around its own dates and meal arrangements. Price a New Year stay separately if staffing, food, minimum nights or activities differ. Do not advertise a countdown dinner, fireworks view or late checkout unless confirmed.

Explain sleeping arrangements, children’s age rules, extra-person charges, parking, meals and pool access. State which areas are shared and whether a kitchen or cooking equipment is available. For a homestay, distinguish an entire-property booking from a private room. Practical details help families decide whether the stay fits their group.

2. Make the total price easy to compare

Show one total for a defined party and stay, with mandatory charges included. State optional extras separately. Explain the deposit, balance deadline, cancellation terms and any refundable security deposit. Keep an enquiry distinct from a confirmed reservation, and tell guests exactly what confirmation requires.

If you compare your offer with Taipei, Bangkok or another overseas trip, use the same dates, travellers, nights and room needs. Include return flights, baggage, transfers, accommodation, meals and required charges. Record when each quote was checked. Do not compare your complete family stay with one person’s promotional one-way base fare or claim local travel is always cheaper.

Illustrative example: a family offer with honest limits

Fictional Baybay Family Inn offers a two-night Christmas stay from December 24 to 26, 2026, for two adults and two children aged 6 and 9 at ₱12,800 total. The example includes one specified family room, four breakfasts each morning, pool access, parking and all mandatory property charges. Dinner and transport are excluded. These invented figures demonstrate presentation, not a market rate or customer result.

Its deposit is ₱3,840, or 30%, credited toward the total; the remaining ₱8,960 is due on the stated balance date. The page explains cancellation conditions before payment. A separately priced New Year package lists its own dates and inclusions. The owner checks fulfilment costs and room availability before offering either package; collecting a deposit is not the same as earning profit.

3. Give your holiday package one page to share

Use your Tapyo services, prices and promotion information to explain the package, supported by current room photos, directions and contact buttons. Put the page link in your social posts and enquiry replies. At reception, a QR code can help current guests view the offer and share it with relatives planning another visit.

Tapyo Free currently includes these page features, a shareable link and QR access; physical standees are sold separately. Free and Grow provide saved FAQ answers, while Grow + AI adds AI replies within plan limits. A clear package page does not require an AI upgrade. Confirm accommodation availability, deposits and payments through the booking process your property actually operates.

Keep the offer consistent with your OTA listings and reservation records. Update or remove sold-out dates promptly. Tapyo’s information page supports direct enquiries; do not promise automatic accommodation inventory synchronisation or payment collection unless your own verified setup provides it.

4. Follow up while the family is deciding

Ask for arrival and departure dates, adults, children’s ages, room preferences and any essential access needs. Reply with one complete quote and a genuine validity deadline. If the guest needs to discuss it with family, ask whether a follow-up would be helpful and agree on when.

Invite past guests through channels they have agreed to receive offers on, and respect requests to stop. A spreadsheet and calendar reminder can organise a small enquiry list. If you use a CRM for automated messages, check consent, stop conditions and staff handover before enabling it. Tapyo contact collection does not itself mean marketing campaigns are sent.

5. Promote the specific value of staying local

Show real rooms and the experience your guests can expect: a manageable journey, a shared meal, space for relatives or time together by the pool, where those claims are accurate. Explain access limitations too. Use a real booking deadline tied to capacity or supplier commitments, rather than a countdown that resets.

AI writing tools can help turn your verified package facts into captions and short video scripts. Check every generated price, inclusion and location claim before publishing. Track enquiries, confirmed bookings, cancellations and contribution after fulfilment costs each week. Improve the detail guests keep asking about. Start by putting one complete holiday offer on your Tapyo page and making the next step clear.
